Handcrafted Witches Bells – Wild Heart

Some hearts were never meant to be kept small. They wander, take risks, fall in love, get things spectacularly wrong and find their way forward again – changed perhaps, but still entirely their own.

My Wild Heart Witches Bells were inspired by Gillian Owens from Practical Magic. Gillian is passionate, impulsive and wonderfully imperfect. She makes mistakes, sometimes enormous ones, but there is also such an enormous capacity for love within her. I wanted this set to hold both sides of her – the wildness and the heart beneath it.

I chose Tiger’s Eye for courage, confidence and strength, whilst the sun brings warmth and vitality. The little leaf felt right here too – something living and changing, never quite remaining as it was.

I carved the wooden Ogham with Quert, meaning Apple. Apple has long been connected with love, beauty and choice, and I particularly love it here because this set is, underneath everything else, about the heart. Not perfect love or easy love, but the many ways we love, lose, learn and continue to love anyway.

Perhaps you simply have a wild heart too.

Hang your witches bells on or near your door, entrance, or anywhere you feel called to place them. Please keep them out of reach of children, as they are decorative spiritual tools and not toys.
