On Wednesday 26th May we will be graced with a magical Super Blood Moon in Sagittarius – how cool is that! A Blood Moon is a term coined for a Total Lunar Eclipse happening when the Moon is in perigee (aka the closest point to Earth during its orbit) Weather permitting, Australia will be able to see the Lunar Eclipse from 9.11-9.25pm AEST.

So what can you do on a Full Moon Eclipse? The Full Moon Eclipse is all about releasing – people, habits, emotions and attachments that no longer serve you. This is an ideal time to give yourself a really good cleansing – body, mind and soul.

I find doing a grounding ritual to calm and collect myself to be effective before doing a cleanse and/or release. And as a busy mum of 3, I find choosing to use the more simple rituals to be just right and stress-free for me.

Here are 3 very simple grounding techniques:

Our wee lass demonstrating her “breathing heart” technique.

Earth Vibes: walking barefoot outside, sitting against a tree and tree-hugging are the best grounding methods for me. Feeling the earth, the cool breeze, the fresh air, the wildlife – oh it is heaven to me! And when I visit the coast you can bet that I will never pass up an opportunity to get my bare feet onto that beach and into the ocean!

Hand on your Heart: This is a simple but effective one that I am currently teaching to my 3 Hobbits. Placing one’s hand upon the heart creates a stabilising anchor and connects you to the Now. It is also sort of like a way to hug ourselves. Close your eyes, place your hand on your heart, then take 5 or 6 deep breaths. My daughter likes to count out aloud to 10 or even 20.

Yoga: Tree Pose, Cobra, Namaste, and Warrior 1 make up some of our favourite grounding poses. We find these simple poses really allow us to feel connected with the earth and bring a beautiful sense of peace & tranquility to both body and mind.

Let’s Release! Time to break free of those patterns that are preventing you from living to the fullest:

Here are 2 simple cleansing techniques for you to try:

Bath: Water is such a wonderful cleanser, both physically and spiritually, and a long soak in a warm bath with Epsom or Himalayan salts is as we all know, a really relaxing method of cleansing yourself. Add in your favourite oils or herbs or flowers to add in those peaceful nurturing vibes. As you soak in that goodness, visualise and set your intention to wash away all those energies and attachments that are no longer serving you. Then at the end of your bath as you are watching the water going down the drain, visualise those energies or attachments that you just cleansed yourself of, flowing away away away from you for good.

Fire: A very powerful method of cleansing. Write down your intentions and what ties you wish to sever on a piece of paper, then burn using a candle or fireplace. As you watch the paper burn, visualise your inner self burning away those ties.

Wishing you all a blessed Full Moon and rest of the Lunar Cycle,

— April K
