Dear Beautiful Soul,
What a year that was!
To end 2021, I choose the Lotus. The Lotus is a symbol of strength, beauty, and endurance. It emerges from the mud, using it for stability & nourishment, then grows up through the strong current, enduring anything it throws at the stalk, and finally breaking the surface of the water in Bloom, under the warm sun.
I also chose Amazonite for its centre – its essence and source of energy. This is for the warrior within. They say Amazonite lined the shields of the mythological Amazon Warriors, and as well as being a stone of peace & truth, symbolises clarity, love & honesty. Amazonite also carries the name The Hope Stone. It weaves together those frayed emotions, giving One the opportunity to sort through trauma & recalibrating thoughts and emotions.
To me, both the Lotus + Amazonite are the perfect symbol for the end of both a challenging & rewarding 2021. I have had some huge huge downs in all aspects of my life – including that not-so-lovely cancer diagnosis – but looking back, I can easily see many beautiful, wonderful & magical moments too. I’m choosing to still be mindful of those not-so-great moments, but letting those positive ones shine through brightly. Those moments give me hope, which is what gets me through each day. And this hope is what will bring me into the New Year.
2022 will be better. As always there will be times that will test us, that will bring us to our knees, that will make us feel that we’re legit going crazy. But I also know that 2022 will bring us some beautiful times as well. I don’t know what’s going to happen, except we’ll be ending it with a big, proud & very tired smile x
